Fundraising Volunteer

Re-Imagining New Communities (RNC) is founded on strong foundational values that emphasize inclusion and support for the low income communities through peacebuilding, community engagements and research. RNC’s experience and interactions gives the organization an edge in producing highly effective campaigns, interventions, reports and community led solutions.

RNC supports primary school going children, teachers and other groups through training, mentorship while equipping them with the necessary skills needed to help them become more resilient & aware of unpredictable chronic and political violence that may erupt within their communities.

The Fundraising volunteer

You are a committed fundraising professional who is willing to use your network, knowledge and expertise to realize objectives of RNC. An experienced hands-­‐on professional who has the ability to translate the activities of RNC into proposals for potential funders. You are pro-­‐active, are able to work independently as part of a small team and you have a proven track record in raising funds. You will work closely together with the executive director and communication team to develop material and information that would support your work

Key Responsibilities

-­‐     Support RNC in the development of fundraising strategy and action plans.

-­‐     Explore fundraising opportunities across geographies in Kenya, USA and Europe.

-­‐     Identify and approach possible funding partners and develop relationships with key decision makers.

-­‐     Write and present proposals to new funding partners.

-­‐     Establish partnerships with funding partners and maintain relationship. Submit timely reports on fund utilization and other reports as agreed with the funders.

-­‐     Record fundraising information as necessary.

-­‐     Account manager for the funding partners.

Job requirements

  • Has a keen interest in supporting non-profit organization in the global south with limited funding.
  • At least 5 years of proven professional experience in fundraising for charities and non-profit entities.
  • Should have had an exposure to raising funds from other geographies (Internationally).
  • Proficient in writing proposals and
  • Has a considerable network for peace, children, climate action and research projects.
  • Experience in supporting and working with small
  • Ability to work and communicate with corporates, foundations, NGO’s and governmental

Workplace location
